    May River Clean Up
    Town of Bluffton leaders and staff are asking residents to help clean up the May River, her shores, nearby streets and parks of the Bluffton Historic District, Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.   “Protecting the May River and our natural resources is top priority for Town leadership and our community,” Mayor Larry Toomer said. “As a commercial fisherman and a resident, I know the May River is the main source of Bluffton’s culture, industry and lifestyle. This is an opportunity for all to take care of her as she does us.” • Volunteers will meet at Oyster Factory Park located at the end of Wharf Street. (Address: 63 Wharf Street) • Boats and kayaks are needed to assist with cleanup efforts (Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. to allow time for setup). • Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by Corner Perk. • All supplies including gloves, bags, vests and water will be provided by the Town of Bluffton, American Rivers, Palmetto Pride, Keep Beaufort County Beautiful and Beaufort County Solid Waste & Recycling. • Personal supplies such as sunscreen, bug spray and water will be provided. • Snacks and lunch will be provided by the Town of Bluffton. • This event is a family friendly event. There will be activities for children to learn about the natural world around them and how to protect the May River, as well as paint a rain barrel. • Just bring yourself and wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes that can get dirty.

    Tulip Trot 5K & Walk
    Join us for The Lowcountry Tulip Trot 5K & Walk for Parkinson’s Disease, an event filled with community spirit, scenic beauty, and a meaningful purpose! This family-friendly 5K invites runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages to take part in a picturesque course winding through the stunning Rose Hill Plantation in Bluffton, SC. Whether you’re sprinting toward the finish line or strolling amidst the Lowcountry’s natural beauty, your participation helps raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s Disease. Lace up, bring your loved ones, and be part of a day that blends fitness, fun, and hope for a brighter future.   Every participant receives a T-shirt. Top male and female finishers, along with the top in each age division, will be honored with awards. Packet pickup on Friday, May 30th, at Palmetto Running Company, Bluffton only from 4-6pm. On race day, collect your packet at Rose Hill Plantation from 7:45-8:15AM—no registrations on the day of the event. Awards: 5K Awards are up for grabs for the top male and female finishers overall, as well as top in each age divisions:12U, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+   The Lowcountry Tulip Trot 5K & Walk for Parkinson’s Disease is a heartfelt event inspired by the life and legacy of Leslie W. Matthews, whose enduring spirit, generosity, and commitment to service left a lasting impact on all who knew him. After Les passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 77, his family—wife Lynn, sons Joshua and Adam, and their families—set out to honor his memory by raising awareness and funds for Parkinsons Disease, a cause close to their hearts.

    Bluffton Independence Day 5K
    Kick off your Independence Day festivities with the Bluffton Independence Day 5K! Join us on Wednesday, July 2nd at 7:00 PM at Oyster Factory Park for an evening run, jog, or walk through Bluffton’s Historic District.
